To expose young athletes to Track & Field and Cross Country in order to develop the necessary skills  needed to excell at the High School level and beyond.

Please click the Link, to learn more about the USATF organization.

All ages will meet and practice at the same times and location.  Athletes, however, will be trained according to thier event (s).

All club coaches are volunteers. They are individuals who take their personal time to instruct and coach your child.  Please see this link for more details.

The Team Reach app is the primary means of communication for club members.  Club members and parents will obtain access to the app upon registration. The Speedsters Athletic Club website is the primary means to obtain general information. E-mail communications will be sent as needed. Additionally, the coach(es) will be at practice a few minutes before and after the scheduled times to talk with parents or athletes to address any questions or concerns.

Please refer to our registration page.

We will not ask for any additional money, however, the athletes are responsible for lodging and transportation to all meets.  There will generally be additional team shirts, bags, etc. for sale, but purchase is optional. Access to these additional items will be available soon.

For practices: your child will need to have a pair of athletic running shoes (trainers or racing flats, spikes, etc..) and appropriate running attire, which should include warm ups, running shorts, long and short sleeved shirts.

For meets: the provided team uniform (club compression top and bottom) are required at all meets, as well as the appropriate racing shoes, spikes, or other appropriate shoe for your event as directed by coach.

For the Cross Country Season only, athletes are also expected to show up in thier warm-up top and bottom, in addition to their provided club compression top and bottom and appropriate racing shoes as directed by coach. The athelete, however, is not required to run in their warm-up top and bottom.

You can buy racing and running shoes at any of the sporting goods stores, e.g., Dick’s, the Nike store, the Addidas store or the Hoka store.

In cross country some kids will be wearing spikes (if the course permits.) Spikes are not a necessity. Please don't feel like you need to go out and purchase them. If you do decide to purchase spikes, please get "md" spikes (middle distance) or distance spikes. You will probably need to replace the spikes with 1/4" to 3/8" spikes. The shorter spikes can be used for track in the spring. Eastbay (online) usually has some good deals on clearance spikes ($10-$25). Dick's Sporting Goods sells spikes. Majority of runners at this age do not need spikes but a good majority will have them at the meet.

  •  We will send out a message communication via the TeamReach app if we know in advance we plan to cancel practice, and/or if there are last minute cancellations.

  • Typically, Coach Robertson is at Tanner Park every practice day, regardless of weather, to make a last minute decision, so we don't normally send a Team Reach app in advance. We send a Team Reach text for last minute cancellations.

  • Oftentimes rain is scattered and it is difficult to determine with certainty if it will affect practice.

  • Parents can always use their own best judgement if they want to try to bring their athletes to practice or not. Practice is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.

  • We will not run if lightning is witnessed or the last thunderclap is heard within 10 miles of our location. We use the Weatherbug lightening strike map to determine the 10 mile radius from our location.

  • We may run if it is raining (it depends on intensity and temperature.)

  • We may run if it is a bad air quality day (depends on intensity.)

  • We run if it is cold. Dress in layers.  Wearing gloves is recommended. Bring clothes to "stand around in" for before and after the run.
